Laura Flores is a widely connected international
executive with 14 years experience in marketing, public administration,
non-profit management, and organizational development and strategy.
She is completely bi-cultural,
having lived and worked in the U.S. and Panama, and is responsible
for CheckOut Panama’s marketing
and strategic direction.
Ms. Flores has dedicated many years
of her career to promoting Panama. Under a Presidential
appointment, she became the first Vice Minister for Foreign Trade
and established a cabinet-level organization responsible for investment
and export promotion and trade negotiations. She also created and
managed the first promotion
department at the Interoceanic Region Authority (ARI), the sole government agency
responsible for commercializing billions of dollars of reverted U.S. assets along
the Panama Canal.
Ms. Flores holds a BA degree from Brown University in Economics and International Relations,
and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. She has visited nearly 40 countries
in five continents, is bilingual in Spanish and English and also proficient
in French and Italian.
